My 1999 Johnson 70 has VRO which I'm happy with. I've had the Montauk in my barn since September but we go to the Outer Banks in 2 weeks and I want the boat to be ready. I haven't done anything to the oil system except add oil last summer when it needed it. When I put it away, I didn't unplug anything on the motor, like the gas line or oil line. My question is do I need to pump the oil bulb which is a foot or so downstream from the oil reservoir, or can I assume there's no air bubbles in the system and just use it. There's maybe 10 feet of oil line from the console to the motor.

Simon,
Pump the oil bulb first and then the fuel bulb prior to starting engine.
