I have a Minot with a wood seat in it. I think the seat came from a Sakonett or its a good reproduction. Currently I am using 2 portable 6 gallon tanks under the seat. Is anybody using larger tanks that fit under the seat? I need to go with portables (permanent tanks are out of the question) and I was wondering if there are any 9's or 12 gallon tanks that are shaped such that I can get 2 of them under the seat. If you suggest plastic tanks, do they leak from the caps or fittings? I say that Moeller has a 9 gallon tank that is about 13 inches wide, 10 inches tall and 29 inches long. Has anybody tried these?

thanks,
ron

In my view you have 3 choices....pate,pate and maybe a pate tank...they have different dimensions for different payloads of course but what a great product ...if you dig through some similar thread subjects on here you will find quite a dissertation ,if u will, in ref to different tanks and pate comes out on top in my book....take a look at some postings in marketplace ref to same subject...different question tho....good luck

Ok, I have searched everywhere and I cannot find Pate on the Internet or anywhere else. Do they make portable tanks? Do those portable tanks leak? Where can I contact Pate?

thanks,
ron

Pate doesn't make a portable tank small enough which will all me to fit 2 of them under my Sakonnet seat. By the way, the USCG considers and tank over 12 gallons to be permanent regardless of whether or not it is fastened down.

So, I need to consider other tank suggestions. Are they any plastic tanks out there that are any good? I would only buy one that doesn't leak. What about Tempo? Moeller? Moeller makes a 9 gallon tank sized such that I could get 2 under my seat.

If you want the best then you want Mirax aluminum tanks. The are not cheap. On the other hand they can make them in whatever size you want. Read more about them here: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001383.html

Tempo makes red plastic tanks that will work as well and cost less but problems with leaking have been reported.
