I have a 86 40 h.p. yamaha,
#1 it spudders at idle what could be the problem?
#2 just for the hell of it can i change the fuel lines and any other line on the engine?,if i could is there a difference between automotive types and marine types of hoses.
#3 after winter storage could i power wash the engine to rid of it from wd 40. or fogging spray which was used.

Be careful with the replacement of those fuel lines. Marine grade fuel line is definitely a different beast than automotive fuel line. The Coast Guard requires that only marine grade fuellines be used on boats. There are a couple of different types depending on the role of the hose.

Probably a dirty or poorly adjusted carb.

If you would like to ruin the electronics and help corrode electrical connections use power washer.Wipe it down with a dry rag and be done with it.
