I've been having trouble starting my Yamaha 115H.P. this season. Once it starts everything is fine. I have to Choke continuously and it still has trouble starting. Note: Once started, putting choke on doesn't boog down motor. Could it be the fuel pump, once started the vacume from the motor is sufficiant to move diaphram pump? Any suggestions? Things to eliminate: Plugs new, Fresh fuel,New OMC Squeeze bulb already taken care of. What else? ROB

RHLOOS,it sounds like the choke is not working due the fact engine rpm's do not change when activated when running. What year is the engine because later Yamaha's have what is called prime start and doesn't use a actual choke butterfly,it uses a timing advance form a computer and a wax pellet in a diaphram on the carb to richen the fuel mixture. The year of the motor is a 1996. The choke has a selonoid that kicks the butterflys closed when choked at the control{key}. It also has a manual choke at the motor.
