I have two depth sounders mounted on my Montauk a Lowrance 350 with GPS and a Bottom Line tournament. Last week, the bottom disappeared from the 350 and then from the Bottom Line. The 350 shows a search for the bottom down to 3000 feet on auto. I switched to a different transducer and got the same reading. The GPS shows the compass spinning and the plot shows movement while stationary.
The Bottom Line doesnít pick up the bottom on the LCD but shows it on the Flasher. These readings occur on the water and in the driveway. The readings are the same with one or both depth sounders turned on. Does anyone have an idea about what happened?
FYI--- I contacted Lowrance and they will repair the 350 and upgrade the system for a little under 500 clams. The will replace the 350 and GPS with a X-15 MT for 750.00.

"Think simple" The first rule of troubleshooting.
Second look for something in common with the 2 units.
Have you checked the voltage going into the units, good clean connections, damaged cables? Another recent post here a fellow had rats eating through wires and hoses. I know these are dumb suggestions but the most often overlooked. Good luck.

After checking all the wiring and the battery hook ups and charge I launched the boat yesterday. After two cranks the battery was deader than a doornail. I replaced the battery and low and behold all the electronics were up and running. Iíve never seen a battery crash like that. Back to Costo it goes.
Lowrance customer service suggested that I check the battery and it showed a full charge. Darrell you were right it is the simple things. One thing that I learned is that if your electronics are acting weird it can be the power they are getting in enough to get them running but is an early warning that youíve got trouble in the battery.
The river bottom is back
