This is the way to go.
Our 1989 18.5 Outrage is now equipped with a single yamaha 4 stroke, efi 115hp, long shaft, & stainless 17 pitch prop.
oh is this sweet!!!
Never ran so smooth, quiet, quick out of the hole,, top end get up, and go-, and used at least 60%less fuel than those twin 2 cycle-70hp old yamaha dogs.
As you can see-we're real pleased!
We caught halibut, and my wife lost a 3-4 footer at the surface after a battle.
Yes- I did say a 3 or 4 foot halibut!!!
Thanks for all your feedback-
Chris and Rich.

Way to go I knew you would love the Yamaha 115 on your 18.What kind of speed are you getting with the 17 pitch? What brand prop?

Yeah, post some numbers for those of us who are looking (and fearing ) repowering of the old outrages, so we can compare.

what's the engine cost--another scary comparison!
