I have a 15' with a Pro 50 Yamaha, what is the story with the engine? What exactly is "Pro" about it?
Does anyone have a similiar rig? I haven't ran it in the water yet and am wondering what it should do?

The Reference page for the 15-foot hull

provides a table that lists anticipated speeds versus horsepower.

The Pro 50 came with trim/tilt, stainless prop, tach and special graphics... otherwise a std 50hp. I ran several pro 50's on 15 hulls and got good performance at about 37-38mph top speed as I recall. Also ran several Yam 3cyl 40's (same block as the 50)and got about 34mph. Keep an eye out for corrosion especially the trim/tilt motor and bracketry and the steering arm (that angle bracket to which the steering rod attaches)! Happy Whalin'... Clark... Spruce Creek Navy

If you are able, please post your sea trial results. I am especially interested in how well the boat performs carrying 1000 pounds. Thank you! David
