I have a Law Enforcement Special, which is a commerical (heavier more glass and resin, 150 lbs) Montauk with 115 OMC, what are you guys with 115's on Montauks slinging? I have a 21 now and dealer will trade, get 4400 RPM's at WOT, cannot trim any higher.
Thanks Jim Armstrong

What is your RPM operating range?

For example my V-6 is rated 5000-5600 RPM's.

Don't want to take the RPM's over 5500.

jameso,

It sounds like you have too much prop. I assume you are saying you have a 21 pitch prop. What diameter of prop is it?

A friend of mine has a Johnson 115 and his prop is a 14" Diameter by 17 pitch. His engine runs about 5250 RPM at WOT.

Try using a prop with less pitch. Your RPM's should go up. When you get the right pitch and diameter of prop, your wide open throttle should be between, (about) 5000 and 5500 RPM.
