I have a 20 Revenge and the engine is shot. No compression in one cylinder and very little in a second. It is a 140 Evinrude. Costs too much to repair given the engine is 22 yrs old. Got my money out of it. I'm looking at new engines and not sure what to get. I'm thinking of a 150 or 175 V-6 2 stroke. What kind? I've gotten advice on every make.

I had a 150 Yamaha on my 19 Guardian Whaler and loved it.

I really like the refinement of the Yamaha motors. I never had a problem with the Yamaha.

The warranty is pretty good.

I would probobly get the Yamaha 150 HPDI model.

Why not try the 200 hp 4 stroke Yamaha or Honda.?

Thanks for the info re Yamaha. I was leaning to them or a Mercury. My boat is only rated for up to a 175. I am thinking of the 150 Yamaha 2-stroke. Right now with the old 140 the self bailers were just over the waterline. With a new engine I'm afraid it will be a diofferent story. Oh well, that's what self bailers are for.
