Topic: Speed check for 13 whaler

scanned the posts for a similer questions and found some, but not all answered my question.Have a 1980 13 with a 1999 30hp Yam, no trim and tilt. Runs 32 mph WOT per my GPS.One 200lb goon and 6 gallons gas. From what I hear and read...sounds about right?

YUP!What are your RPM's? You may be able to get more but then it will suffer bigtime when you add another person or 2. |

rpms were pegged on 5500, right where they needed to be.......probably will suffer with another person but not really that concerned.....its a tri-hull for god's sake....why would anyone want to go any faster than that. |

Yup if you went up in pitch you could get 35+ @ 5100 but with added weight she would suffer. I was just wondering if you were over revving but you are OK. |

67, 13 Whaler...Evinrude 25 (circa. 1968) blows my hat off if I'm not careful. But seriously...not much left in the ole girl. |

I had my 1970 with 40hp Merc up to 82mph once!.... Along Rt95, on the way to NH ! |
