I have another question the person who is selling me the boat is asking $19500 for it.
It is a 1988 Boston Whaler 20' with 2 1998 yamaha 150hp is this a fair price?
Oh and this model year boat came with any problems or defect?

jcporsche: You are the buyer, if you think is a fair price then it is. If you do not think it is fair then negotiate. Only the buyer can determine a fair price based on location, condition etc.

Requests for appraisals are not normally topics for the PERFORMANCE forum.

Have you read my article on buying older Whalers?

In your proposal, the engines have a great deal of value.

Sorry to post a reply in the wrong arena, Jim, but I recall time was of the essence for JC.

I think that is a very reasonable price. I sold my 89 20' Outrage with its original 1989 Yamaha and new trailer for $16,900. The first person that saw it, bought it without dickering on the price.

If you haven't sea trialed the boat, I would do so before the purchase. The 20' hull is very trim sensitive and I would think twin 150s would be too much weight in the stern for a comfortable cruising speed.
