[This post has been edited for clarity and style.] Can Trim Tabs be installed on a notched transom 22-Outrage (1984)? I hear that it can't be done without modification. What has to be done to put on Lenco 12x12s? I will have a sop [?] do it as I am unable to do it.

sure. But what is all the talk about lack of wood in the transom? Does it need to be reinforced w/ wood? What size tabs did you use? Pics of your installation would be great.
Thanks,
DDG

"All the talk about lack of wood in the transom" is from first-hand reports from people who have attempted to install trim tabs and found there was no wood backing material in the transom other than than located in the thickened portion where the engine is mounted.

I put Lencos on my Outrage 22, and I reinforced the part of my transom where the actuators lit that wasn't filled with wood. It would be the same operation with Bennetts unless you decided to install them some way that I cannot visualize, or decided to take your chances and not reinforce.

I love the Lencos, and there is a thread I am too tired to find right now, although I think it is in Repairs/Mods, that gives pretty thorough coverage to my project of installing them.
