I really need some advice. I am buying a Honda 9.9 trolling motor for the purpose of putting it on my 18 Outrage (1988). I have read a few posts on port or starboard preferences and would appreciate any more thoughts to this. It is a heavier troller and I am wondering if I put it on the port side would the boat list to port? One tends to stand to port anyway and I wonder if that would create a problem while on plane. Also if anyone has any feedback on a bracket vs putting it directly on the transom ? If a bracket, the 18 outrage has a lip molded on the outside of the transom either side of the main engine that would tend to either put the bracket quite close to the main or quite far out to the side. Which is better as far as the mounting area placement? Thanks very in advance
