Local seller has a couple of low-hour 175's for sale at a good price. Opinions on using them on 25 OR. I know it's rated for 300 hp, I'm beyond the age of doing any thing foolish. My thoughts are that you can get very good performance with twin 175s at much lower rpms than twin 150's, and consequently get much longer engine life operating at the lower rpms.

Not a problem at all, particularly if they are OMC's, which are the same as their 150's.
If Mercury or Yamaha, they would be more like detuned 200's. Weight is definitely not an issue.

I have run twin Merc 200's on my 25 for 13 years now. Not even so much as gelcoat stress crack anywhere!
