Just purchased a used 1998 Dauntless 13 with a 50 hp, 4 cycl. Yamaha, foil on the the motor. It has a 10 5/8" X 12" aluminum prop. C. Bennett @ BW said they tested the boat with a 4cycl Yamaha with a 11.5" X13"P SS for 38.4 mph @ 5900RPM, two on board. In an earlier posting I found a 2cycl. 50 Merc. running a trophy sport 48-878616 14 P, 4 blade, which looks to be a 10 5/8" X 14" SS, for 42 mph @ 5250 RPM. I have been through the prop. formulas shown on the Forum. What are the rest of you Dauntless 13 owners using and what are the results?? Thanks in advance for your response.

I have a 13' SuperSport with a 1984 Johnson 40 HP. It has a 12" x 15 degrees prop on it and it'll do about 35 MPH at full throttle with two 200 lb guys in it.

The motor will over-rev if I push it all the way to full throttle....So I think I could run a 11-3/4" x 17 degree prop on it and get maybe 40 MPH at full throttle without the over-rev problem. Full throttle on this motor is about 5500 RPM.

Have you ever had any problems with the Dauntless 13 tipping to port if you gave it too much power to quickly? Thanks.

My Dauntless 13 does not tip to port, however, I have lenco trim tabs on it, so I usually fix any tipping with those.
