went to crank the motor(150 rude)to let it run a bit and battery was dead. Swapped with another and it would not turn, only clicked.
So I recharged primary battery and it did turn it over. The only diff i can see was that the primary is 800 cold crank and my alternate attempted was 750 cold crank. I find it hard to believe that a fully charged 750 cold crank would not turn it over. Is this possible??

My guess is that the 750 battery is shot, not holding the charge.

Ditto....... even if it is a new 750 battery, there is something wrong with it....

I think if you check the 750 battery with a float hydrometer, it has at least one cell bad. If the 800 battery was dead any length of time it's quarter to midnight for it too. Neither is a battery I'd want to trust with my life any distance from port. Batteries with a bad cell look like they take a charge very quickly, automatic chargers even turn off themselves, and you assume they are fully charged, but the hydrometer shows the truth. "Sic transit."
