I just read Trailer Boats Marine Power 2003 article and I am confused. It states that Bomb is 'reintroducing' the 90hp V4 2 stroke Johnson for 2003 and that it has been re-engineered for improved dependability. I have a 2002 Bomb model and I know plenty of you that have 2001's, 2000's etc. so I don't see where the reintroduction is unless they changed this engine. Except for the weight all specs are the exact same for the 2002's. What specifically did they re-engineer? I am happy with my engine as many of you know but I want to know if they changed the 2003 from the 2002 models.
I have e-mailed the writer as well as posted on their message board.

I agree totally, just like the new crest toothpast, changed the tube colors, but same toothpaste.

Exactly, marketing. Bomb is the new owner so everything is "reintroduced".

ya know I was reading my 1965 Evinrude brochure and it says in big letters: "OMC outboard marine corp, Blah blah blah, Canada." All my other brochures are from like Wi or Mi or one of those great lake states. Just thought it was weird that they were originally Canadian and went back to the "homeland" after many years of being a Yank.

The words 'reintroduced' and 're-engineered' came from the article writer not from Bombardier. In fact, the 2003 brochure does not say that anything has changed; that is why I wonder what the writer found out and why I don't think it has anything to do with marketing.

Also, Bomb became the new owner around Sept. 2001. This is their second full year in the outboard business.

I think the first thing they are going to want to do is find a new nick name other than "Bomb". ;P
