Little help, here!

Since it is mandatory to have a four stroke or DFI motor on Tahoe, I am looking to upgrade the 13' SS. I currently have a 1988 40 hp Johnson and would like to put a 40 four stroke on. Will the controls be compatible? Do I just need some kind of adaptor kit, or do I need a whole new set?

Also, does anyone have experience with Bomb's new motors? Reliability, warranty work, etc.? Supposedly the four strokes are Suzuki, right?

Thanks for your help.

Love my 2002 Bomb Johnson 90 2 stroke. A year old now and no problems so no need for warranty work (2 year non-declining warranty)

Controls will work, you will need a wiring harness adapter to fit the old guages, keyswitch etc to the new. If you have no guages, I would just replace the whole wiring harness and install the new keyswitch. You WILL need guages with this engine for temp, oil pressure, low oil, etc. A tach is also VERY important being it is more critical than a 2 stroke where you rev.

Yes it is a suzuki.
