I am thinking about geting a new prop. mostly so that I have a spare. I am wondering what others with 13s use as far as type number of blades, diamater, and pitch.thanks, logan

get whatever prop lets your motor run near the top of the recommended rpm range when wide open. On a 13'er that usually means dang near the tallest pitch they make.On a 30 horse OMC it is a 15" pitch. Your gear ratio may be different on the Zook so you can't go by my OMC prop. You do need a tach to get the right prop (you can just borrow one and wire it into the control box for testing) |

If ya don't have a tach, we can't really help you. If your engine say redlines at 5500 rpm, you want a prop that will swing that engine 53-5500 with just you and no gear, etc. It also depends on how you run the boat. If you are ALWAYS going out with 3 friend, well then you may want a smaller prop so you don't strain the engine so bad and can get on plane, etc. |

I bought a SS prop for my Daunt 13, Yamaha 40 last year from Michigan Propeller. Their recommendations appeared to be pretty sound for matching prop/motor/boat for optimal RPM.I don't recall their address, but I ordered it via the web. Was abotu $350. |

by the way...the SS prop made a bit difference in hole shot. I thought it was worth the $$. |
