I am new to the list serve.

Last year I sold my 13 and bought a Daunt 18 with 135 Optimax. I most typically boat on Lake Michigan. Ride can be rough. I am considering teh addition of Lenco electric (24 Volt) or Bennett hydraulic trim tabs.

I like the idea of the Lenco tabs as I can buy tabs with electric trolling motors attached.

I am concerned the Lenco tabs may not work with my swim ladder or my existing electrical system. I currently have one 12V battery.

Any recommendations?

Your input is appreciated.

Boat on smoother water! ;-)

What problem are you trying to fix with the tabs? Running attitude, time to plane, ability to plane at lower speed, porpoising, all of the above?

A Doel-Fin may resolve some of those issues for a lot less money.

Obviously other trolling motor options include bow, transom, and engine mount units.

I am lead to believe trim tabs will smooth out the ride in rougher water. Specifically, reduce "slamming" as my wife calls it.

I am limited with trolling motor selections as I have the full bow rail (obstructs trolling motor mount and deployment). Bow mount is most preferred.

I could boat on smaller waters but the fish are not as big.
