hello to all on the board. new to this forum, but not to whalers. had a 13 as a kid that the family sold, and have regretted it ever since. just bought a pretty mint 1965 ( as a small project and was wondering - what is the best replacement steering system available? I remember changing a teleflex on my 18 ft parker, and it seemed pretty good. thoughts? thanks in advance - great forum.

Just get a cheap Teleflex system for about $130 plus a Stainless wheel($50) and you are good to go. That should use a 8' cable if mounted in stock location. If a sourpuss, get the 9' cable.

thanks for the input - the length of the teleflex cable was one of my questions.
