There is one for sale on ebay It's a new 1997 Mercury 125.Was this agood motor?Any problems? It's "buy it now" is only 2800.I have a 1992 Guardian 19 that Is in need of a motor.Would this be agood motor for this boat?

I would try to find something in the 150 to 175 range for that boat. Depends what you use the boat for?

Guardian 19 is the same as a 18 outrage right? Max hp is 150? If so, good engine, great price. Many have 18's with 115hp and they run fine.

The only reason I thought you might want more horsies is that I was told it weighed more since it had a littler thicker fiberglass throughout. I forget how much but I thought it was a few hundred pounds. I may be wrong though.

Be sure it is a 25" shaft motor. Most of the 125's were made as 20's. A Dealer can install an extension kit, however, maybe for about $750.

Thanks for your help.I'm confused.I thought this boat took a 20" shaft. You're right about the hp, Ishould go with a 150 because ofthe weight. Thanks again.
