I've seen reference to caculating potential speeds with slip%, prop pitch, and gear reduction data. Does anyone know how the formula and how it works?

Also, where do I find the gear ratio info for my outboard? And how does the pitch vs diameter of prop effect performance?

Thanks

You find the lower unit gear ratio for your outboard engine in the owner's manual under specifications. There is no known on-line source of this information.

Read the Reference article series on Propellers for more information on speed predicting forumulas. It is all explained in complete detail.
