70 yam. once it cranks, it starts up instantly on one key turn. however, starting in the am after sitting up all night is a bear. turn turn turn sputter sputter sputter. once even ran the batt down trying to crank. WHY is it so hard to start after sitting overnight? Thanks.

What year is the motor? The butterfly on the choke has a hole that is too big. See if you can retrofit it with a late model part. This was a common problem on older yamahas. |

Take the cowl off and make sure the electric choke is functioning before messing with the butterfly on the choke. |
