I have a '99 13' GLS sport with a 40 HP Yamaha 2 stroke. Looking for improved performance.
What are your recommendations for the best SS prop for this rig?
Thanks.

I recently put a Yamaha 50 on my 13'. I tried three aftermarket props, but found the best performance by far from the factory Yamaha prop. Check their web site for information.

I owned a Daunt 13 with a 40 Yamaha 2 stroke. I sold it last fall.

Last spring I purchased a SS prop from Michigan prop, I think it was called the "turbo shot" or "hot shot." Cost me about $300. It was well worth the money. I noted a significant improvement in hole shot. I found them via teh web.

Check the specs on your current prop, RPM, and order an appropriate size for your use and current performance.

Polaris, I have had lots of 13''s with 3 cyl 40hp Yamahas and found that best performance was with the Yamaha stainless 13" prop (best hole shot, top end...everything). This prop looks goofy with big "Mickey Mouse ears" blades but it does the job! Never could swing a 14" pitch Yamaha SS prop (small cleaver type) with the 40hp but could swing the 14 or 15 with the 50hp version. Happy Whalin'.. Clark... Spruce Creek Navy
