I want to put a kicker on my 24' Outrage and can't seem to find any history of someone doing the same. Any recommendations on size? I want to go with a 4 stroke. Mounting it on my swim step. Looks like I'll need a long shaft.

I had a 9.9 hp 4 cycle on my 22 Outrage. It was plenty strong for that boat. The long shaft is a good idea since the engine needs a good bite in the water and waves tend to lift the stern in certain sea conditions. You won't lose much with the extra drag since you're only going at hull speed or below. Also, the longer shaft is easier to tilt clear of the water when the kicker is out of use.
