I am repowering my 89 Montauk with a 89 Johnson 88. Does anyone know where I can get info on the weight of the 88 to compare with a 4 stroke. ?

I belive it is 306lbs. I have both a 4 stroke 70 suzuki(343lbs) and a 88spl on 17' Whalers. The 88 has a better holeshot and about 2-3mph on top end but also burns about 120% more fuel at cruise than my 4 stroke(that 88 sucks up about 6GPH @ 38-3900 rpms). You better have a 27 gal tank with that 88 if you want to go out for more than a couple hours.
