Not Whaler related, but I recently was given a 1955 Seahorse 5.5 engine. Its a C-12.I've had it resurected with new coils, carb kit, plugs, impeller, head gasket, etc.
Any body have any knowledge of these engines? I'm thinking it would be a great engine to put on a small John boat. Just wondering what the reputation is on these things.

It should outlast about three more boats.

The CD-12 engine is a jewel. There are many still in regular service.
There is a lot of discussion of these engines on iboats Bulletin Board.
