Is it possible to install trim tabs on
a 17' Montauk? That area of the transom
is simply hollow and there doesn't appear
to have any backling to securely attach
the tabs. Any suggestions.
My Whaler is an 86 Montauk , with Bobs
Machine Shop jack plate and 115 Yamaha.
The trim tabs will improve performance in
the flats of Florida Bay.

Just reinstating the question on Trim Tabs,
anyone with some feed back?

contact the tab mfg and ask them. i don't think its a problem since the forces will be a shear force on the screws (parallel to the surface) instead of trying to pull them out.
