I have installed a new to me 2003 Yamaha 70 on a 15' Super Sport. The Yamaha is turning a brand new 13 x 19 aluminum Yamaha propeller. The motor seems to run smoothly at displacement speeds. However at speeds over about 25 mph, the motor seems like it vibrates excessively. Is this propeller ventilation or do I have something else wrong like a bent propeller shaft or a bent drive shaft? The prior owner of this motor did hit something slowly so as to put a small dog ear in one of the blades of the original propeller. I replaced this propeller with a new one. Unfortunately, I don't have a tachometer (will get one soon) but top speed measured with the GPS was only about 42 mph. (Note: it was very hard to check the GPS at this speed because driving requires FULL concentration). I was expecting about 46 mph.

Better not run it like that very long or you will be shopping for a brand new engine.
Either a bent prop blade, prop shaft or main shaft.
It could also be a miss.
46 might be a little on the wishful thinking side with a 70 hp.
