I recently installed a 70 hp. Evinrude(suzuki) 4 stroke. It still trolls a little fast. Does anybody have experience with the various trolling plates on the market(such as Happy troller, troll-a -matic or Cabelas trolling plate)? The motor came with a StingRay hydro-foil--it seemed to make the boat list to the left and handled a little squirrely on plane so I removed it, I do not want the trolling plate with the integral hydro-foil. Thanks -Royce

Get an amish buggy bag and run it off of the front cleat. They work great. Will take you down under 1 mph. I run one on by Edgwater 155 that has a 90 Yam.

I have a Happy troller on my Montauk and I love it. I got tired of dragging 5 gallon buckets around. A simple pull of a cord and I'm in business.

Installed Troll'NPlane (combo fins and trolling plate)...Releases at 750 RPM on 90 HP Evinrude (not acceoatbel)...Alos, fins make boat porpoise at high speeds...
