While we took the boat out today and played with the trim a trim abit.
WOT was about 5600rpm with a speed of 46mph. The boat had half a tank of fuel and about 600lbs of occupants. At the time the waves were about 1.5 feet.
I think these figures are about where they should be. What do you all think?
By the way the motor is a 1995 200 hp Merc Black max offshore.

Sounds like your running a 17p prop.
Is it a stock merc prop ?
I'd try a merc performance prop to get the boat up above the water & raise the engine 1 set of holes & see how she likes it.
I see no reason why that rig isn't getting 50 mph+.
A little fine tuning [ prop & engine height ] will get you
there.
My thinking is a 14.25 x 19 Stiletto if your now running a 17p.

It is a stainless prop and I think it is a 19 pitch(not sure what type though).

I have my doubts that it's a 19p because 5,600 rpms & the engine isn't raised & it's a carbed engine makes me think it's a 17p.
If by chance it is a 19p, that engine is a "VERY" strong running engine, but your speed is about 5 - 8 mph to slow for the rpms & pitch.

my 1988 OR20 with 200 1988 Johnson, 19" SS OMC prop in mediocre condition, would hit 44mph on its best day light on fuel. 46-48mph for that setup seems about right.

Thanks for the reply I thought it seemed about right. I don't know if I would want to go much faster. What rpm do you cruise at.
I'm currnetly cruising at between 3500 and 4000.

Mustang, what is the max rpms your engine twisted ?
He is twisting at 5,600 rpms thats why I think he's twisting a 17p instead of a 19p.
Of coarse my engine is much newer & DFI & if I put the hammer down with a 19p it would shut it'self down because of wayyyy over rev [ 6,200 ].
I'm interested in your max rpms vs his, & is your engine raised r all the way dont on the transom.

When talking "pitch" you must also be talking "gear ratio".
Either one by itself is meaningless. Different brands use different ratios.
