When taking the only and everyday route from my slip down the river to the Bay, I run into prevailing headwinds of 10-15 and a chop of 2' or so (especially when wind against tide). I plane OK for awhile and then boom, the boat seems to fall and smacks very hard. Wife doesn't like that. What am I doing wrong? Too slow, too fast, wrong trim angle?

BWO: My 22' Whaler does that too sometimes. They are very strong but stiff hulls that offer little flex, so expect that to happen sometimes. Not much more advice I can offer.
