The amount of oil your motor consumes will depend on how you operate your motor. At full throttle, I believe the consumption ratio is greater than 50:1 but at idle it might be something like 100:1. Most of the operation of my Yamaha 225 is below 4000 rpm. I find that I have to add a gallon of oil about every 75 gallons of gas consumed (usually about every other fill up). During my typical 50 - 75 operating hour season, I usually consume about 6 to 8 gallons of oil.
Just recently I made several extended runs operating the motor above 4000 rpm. I noticed increased oil consumption to the point where I had to add a gallon of oil after about 50 to 60 gallons of gas consumed.
Although it depends on your operation, I believe that adding a gallon of oil for every tank (77 gallons of gas in a 22 Outrage or Revenge) would not be unusual.
