There is a 14 footer on ebay with a 40hp Johnson. I had a 15" Dauntless with a 70hp Merc. Good Power. Is the 40 big enough to push a 14" Dauntless ? Thanks

Big enough to push it, yes. But not big enough for any speed. That boat is 1025 lbs.

As a comparison, my '76 15' Sport with two people on board, a six gallon gas tank and 1.5 gallons of oil hits 28.5 mph by GPS and planes nicely at 2/3 throttle with a new 40 HP Johnson two-stroke. Of course, this is a lighter boat.
