This motor is a 2002 carburetor saltwater series 125hp. What are your thoughts on mounting this motor on a 1990 Outrage 19 "same as 18 hull"?

I have to be honest I think the merc 125 carb a very good
motor. is not big enough for the 19 outrage . if you are using it in a small lake it would be ok . just my 2 cents
maybe Iam wrong.

I have heard many mixed opinions on that engine. The main problem is it only uses the upper 2 cyls at slower speeds(below 2400rpm?) this makes a VERY rough idle but good trolling economy. Once past that point they perform more like a 115 but drink fuel like a 150. I don't think a 115 is too small so the 125 should be Ok in that area but not that engine.
