I have a 1992 Johnson 115 on my 1992 17 foot Outrage. The situation is I have both a 19 inch pitch stainless prop and a 17 inch pitch stainless prop. The 19 inch turns 5000 rpms and pushes me to 44 mph GPS. The 17 inch turns 5600 and pushes me to 41 mph GPS. The question is does running at 5000 Rpm bog the motor to much from its peak.
thanks in advance BK

No....WOT range is 4500-5500 but I would either get a 17" Stainless or an 18 and have a happy medium. If your 17" is SS then have it double cupped($15?) and it will drop you down to under 5500.
