SSILVER	posted 09-02-2003 11:39 PM ET (US)             81 Newport w/ 81 Merc 90. 17 pitch Mich wheel. I can reach motors max RPM 5K. Tried 19 OEM Merc prop and could only hit around 4600. I think the 19 was 1 MPH or 2 faster. Current speed w/ light load 38/39 MPH. Sean
lhg	posted 09-03-2003 04:39 PM ET (US)          For a Classic Montauk with late model Merc 90 2-stroke, use a 20" Merc Laser II or High Five prop. She'll really run, probably close to 47 with engine in third holes.
