I've repowered my 69 Nauset with a Johnson 1990 88 Spl with a 13 3/4 by 15 Aluminum prop. Should I start looking for another prop? Don't have tach nor can I take the boat out so this is a "What do you think of the combination"? Have Morse binnacle (sp?) control to trade if you have a better prop.

For $75 It is a decent deal. For $100 you can find one not dinged.
I have a completely refurbed one with a new hub and everything you can have for $125 delivered to your door. I just spent $60 refurbing it 15 hours ago.

Big: sounds good! Is it a 13 3/4 by 17? Also by any chance do you have a tach that would fit my 1990 Johnson 88 Spl? Or would my old tach from the 1970 Evinrude 100 work with the Johnson? I guess you aren't interested in the Morse binnacle.

Whaler, back then the only difference between a Johnson & an Evinrude was the paint job, the engines were identical.
Yes your old tach will work just fine.
If the old tach is shot, buy only another OMC Bombardier tach because the others most of the time wont work right.

Send me an e-mail with your address or paypal me at my E-mail address as username or whatever. I do NOT have a tach, I gave my old one to another forum member a couple months ago. I would buy a tach on E-bay for cheap.
Prop is a 13 3/8 x17" OMC SST in like new shape sans paint. I will give her a quick spray but it never lasts long. Hub is brand new, etc.
I would LOVE to have your binacle, especially if the chrome style......But I have systems check and my binacle has all the alarms and key switch kill lanyard, etc included. Would be a major pain in the ass to convert and would leave a large hole in my dash. Put it on the forum for sale and if chrome is good, she will sell in an instant. Try E-bay but put it under Boston Whaler parts, old whaler owners want them bad.
