About how many hours could I expect from the spark plugs in my 1997 Yamaha V6 150 Saltwater Series 2 ?

I usually change mine every 50 hours or once a season, which ever comes first. At about 3 dollars a piece, that's a pretty cheap and easy bit of maintenance.h

Frontier - I apologize for corupting your topic, but somewhat related... If you're still getting full RPMs with plugs that have 50, 100, 150, or whatever hours on them, and the engine is running smooth (by sound), and the plug gap is still good, why do you change them? As Peter said, its easy & cheap to do. But does it hurt to use them longer?
