Bob, we have some friends who have a Honda 90 on their Outrage 17 and they love it. The motor is heavy, but the static trim on the boat is fine. The performance is fine too, but they're not using the boat for a hot-rod; it's basically a fishing boat/taxi.
I'm a Honda fan. I've got a pair on my boat - but I'd still recommend something lighter for that 17.

Which Outrage 17' are we talking about...

At 373 lbs, the Honda 90 will not be too heavy for your the 17' Outrage. It may be a little under powered though.

For approximately the same weight you could have an injected 115HP or a carbed 150.
If higher performance is important the Honda is the wrong choice. If you want a comfortable, tractable, reliable, fuel-efficient machine, the Honda's a good choice.

If this is the 17 Outrage I, then the boat is only rated to 120 HP MAX...
If this is the 17 Outrage II, then as far as I am concerned a 90 HP will not do the trick... I had a 1997 17 Outrage II with a 115 HP on it and I would not want any less HP on this boat.... 150 is the max HP for the 17 Outrage II...
