i HAVE 13FT MARINER 25HP SHORT ,V/PLATE HAVE 3 INCHES ABOVE THE HULL,HOW I MOVE DOWN 3INCH? HELP? HAVE VENT PROBLEMS,THANKS

Hello, Luis.

You have three options:

1. Modify your engine to a long (20") shaft. This would be difficult, because you would have a very difficult time finding and acquiring the necessary parts.

2. Add a setback plate to your boat that is height adjustable and adjust it for proper AV plate height. This can cause difficulties with controls and may give your boat an unpleasant appearance.

3. Trade your engine for a long shaft engine. This is the option I suggest.

Some might suggest cutting your transom to lower the engine. This would be an irreversable move and would affect the value of your boat. I do not recommend it.

Setback plate is cheapest option.

Oops....if you use a setback plate you do NOT have to lower the engine, it cans tay the same height but will work being water is higher the further aft you go.
