I have a c.1990 NEWPORT 17 with a 90-HP Johnson. What size prop to use?

What was the last year this hull was manufactured? Thanks

Last year for Newport's was 1989. The prop to run is a 13 3/8x17 Stainless or Alum, I prefer stainless. This will get you mid 5's on reline and reline is 5500. Top speed will be low 40's.

Discussion of propeller pitch on 17-foot hulls with 90-HP is a favorite topic. I believe you have been given good advice in this thread.

I am running an Evinrude 88 SPL. It has the original prop which is an aluminum 13 1/4 X 17.

At wide open throttle I am spinning at 5750 RPMs.

42 MPH with 1 on board.

If I am not mistaken, redline for my motor was 5750.

Bigshot, I am certain the owners manual stated it at 5750 or 5800. I'm looking for it at the moment.

It would be the first crossflow to do that.
