I am interested in putting a 2004 johnson 90hp or a 2004 mercury 90hp on a 15 super sport limited. The problem it weighs 335pounds"johnson" and 303"mercury" does anyone know if it will handle the weight and the water would drain properly or does anyone know which is a better motor. Thanks Taylor

They handle the weight pretty good. as far as draing, depends on what you mean. Even with a 40hp you can't leave the plug out.

I was considering repowering withe 90hp yamaha. It is a 3 cyl. I would not put a 4 cyl on (I'm not sure how many cyl'ers the engines you referenced have). I have seen the 15' with a 90 yamaha and it sat fine in the water.

The compartment i was refering to is the one that is molded in the transom it has 2 plugs and also the motor i was looking at is a 4cyl.I seen someone who had a mercury 90 "303lbs" plus a jack plate and hyd. steering and it looked fine it is on page 50 in the pics so i was thinking that the 30 or so pounds would be the weight of the jack plate and the steering Thanks alot Taylor
