I'm about to install my new Suzuki 70 hp on my
Montauk. What's the best and safest way to lift
the engine onto the transom? I have access to a
cherry picker. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks

Most engines have an attachment point on the top of the engine, usually in the flywheel area, where a rigging connector can be threaded into place. My Yamaha 70 has a permanently mounted rigging attachment for lifting the engine.

I don't know the particulars for your Suzuki. Your owner's manual should have guidance. If there is a removable rigging attachment, often you can borrow this from a dealer for a short period when lifting the engine onto the transom.
