Ing and Bigshot,

You both mentioned "plates. Without getting into the more exotic jackplates, who just makes solid plates that would lift an engine 5 inches. Are the custom done or does a paticular manfacuter specialize in these?

Thanks
Sterling

CMC makes fixed plates, Onlyawhaler. They can be set up to whatever elevation you desire.

Just about every manuafacturer makes manual jackplates. i have a Vance which is a semi-noname plate but there is not much to them. Look on E-Bay or check any boat store. Even Boater's world etc has the basic plates. The basic plates are 4-6" setback with 4-6" lift.ine is 5"x5" and cost about $150 with the brace for the top bolts. Exotic manual plates are by a few companies like Bob's, they can make 10" setbacks which you do not need. If going more than 300lbs I would recommend a 1 piece plate, not just the 2 sides. My plate was a 2 piece but we put a 12"x12"? 1/4 plate between the sides and made it a 1 piece.

Thanks for the info. I feel stupid for asking this, but can anyone direct me to where I can find CMC for these transom plates. I have tried CMC.com. It is probably somewhere in the OEM section, but I can't find it. First the body, then the mind,,,,

Thanks

Cook Manufacturing Co is CMC. Try Bob's in FL as well. E-Bay is always good too.
