Bob, I have the same combination, a 1996 Outrage 17-II with a 2001 F115. I bought it last september with 7 hours on the engine. I did the last 3 hours with a max of 5000-5500 RPM, after that WOT. I have a 19" aluminium prop on it, it makes 6100 RPM with a speed of 68 KM/H (= 42 MPH). Fuel consumption measured over 13 hours on different speed levels is about 12.2 liter/Hour (=3.2 GPH). I will change my prop into a stainless steel one with a pitch of 21" in order to bring down the RPM at WOT. I hope it will bring it down to 5800 RPM witch is better for the motor.
What kind of prop will you start with? I is difficult to get an good advice on the right prop for this combination. I also thought about a Mercury High-Five prop of 20". What do you think?
