Ordered a new engine for the '22 Outrage I'm currently redoing. I went with a new Honda 225. The package will include, stainless prop, wiring harness, and new guages for $11,000. Rigging is going to run another $1,000 but will be covered by the trade-in of the two Evinrude 112's they are taking off.

The paint job is complete and the boat is starting to go back together. The new fuel tank should be ready early next week and the deck is ready to reinstall. I ordered the new dash board material and the new windshield this morning. I'll post some more photos soon.

I forgot to mention the primary motivation for going with Honda, is the fact that the dealer is located on the water, just a mile from my house. He can rig & service the boat without me ever having to the boat out of the water. This is important because I have to borrow a vehicle every time I need to tow it somewhere. So price and convienence where the key points in going with Honda over Yamaha 4-stroke.

$11,000 for a brand new 225 4-stroke Honda, the old high price kings, sounds like a "dumped" price to me, especially with all those extra goodies. Mercury may be on to something after all.

What did they give you for the 112's and was that part of the $11k? The 112's were 1996's? and should have fetched about $1500-2k each if not more.

PS...Larry Honda unlike others actually INCLUDES that stuff with their engines, even the polished SS prop. I know because I almost bought one a couple years ago. The only thing I had to buy was the binnacle control uptick over the side-mount. Might not offer side mount with a 225, who would use one?

Thanks for the encouragement. I need it.

The $11,000 price does not include the engines I'm taking off (112's). Honda is offering a winter special of either $800 cash back or $1,250 in accessories. If you include that the price for the engine is a net $9,750. The engine I'm buying is a leftover 2002 which is still in the box. I'm looking to keep the boat for a long time so I'm less concerned about resale.

Do you have any interest in the engines? I'll take $2,000 for the pair.
