This winter I wired a small removable livewell pump in my Newport. The instructions indicate a draw of 1.5 amps/hour. How long can I run the pump on a full charged battery before I need to be concerned with starting ability (03' Yamaha 90 2s in geed condition)?

Also will the small alternator on the yamaha 90 2s (10 amp)charge the battery or just mantain it (I have a 45 min run to my fishing area)?

As always thanks for the help.

The Cobia run has begun. Game on!!!!!

there are a few of considerations here
1 what capacity is the battery

2 what type of battery and what condition

3 how long do you need to run the pump

4 what else will be running ( gps fishfinder vhf starting etc)

1.5 A/hour is a low discharge rate however your run will only put back in at best 15 amps.

Thanks for the reply, some answers for you.

1)625 MCA/500 CCA
2)Everstart, Marine Starting Battery from Wal-Mart. The battery is 1 year old, has been disconnected prior to sitting for more than 1 week and is currently being trickle charged (good condition).
3)Max pump run time would probably be 4 hours (fishing 2 hours on wither side of low tide).
4)No other accessories would be running during shutoff. Once I get into position I shut off my Lowrance FF.
