thinking of tradeing my mercury for a suzuki does anyone own one ???

My sailing club bought a 4 stroke suzuki 50 2 years ago for an old 16 foot whaler rescue boat. This is our 3rd season with it.
Lovely motor. despite massive abuse it runs great and
sips gas. top speed is about 32 mph. idles all day.

I purchased a 50 suzuki 4 stroke a 1 1/2 ago for my 15'. I had a 60 johnson 2 stroke, but it was giving me problems. Anyway, the suzuki is dependible, quiet, and cheap on gas. I go out 1 a week and it has never gave me problems, starts with the turn of the key. Paid 6000 for motor, controls, tach, and installation. I'm very satisfied. I have yet to wot due to the area i fish in (not safe). The fastest i've gone is 25 mph. Unfortunately the only suzuki dealer on the island closed shop, so I hope the suzuki lives up to its reputation or I'm in big trouble. other than that I it suits my needs perfectly. Lance from maui.
